“Shades of Desire” shows a selection of Jorgensen´s work, the artist manages after a few pages to leave an everlasting impression on the viewer. With a sharp clear optic the photos convey a feeling of lightness and warmth, the photo edition shows both solo shots and couples in love. On eighty pages of soft duotone the viewer comes closer to Jorgensen´s masculine models – a book like a warm summer´s rain.
Jay Jorgensen was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1964. Already as a young boy he photographed landscapes and his friends and ever since photography has been part of his life. The winning works of the Tom of Finland prizes were printed in the books “Ecce Homo”, “Naked” and “Nudes Index”. Apart from this his pictures adorned the pages of the magazines Variety and People. Since 1985 the artist lives in Los Angeles.
