Ohm Phanphiroj
Night Hawks

His first book ROUGH STUFF (2004) earned Ohm Phanphiroj international acclaim. The mixture of voyeurism, provocation and sensual intimacy between him and his models had a huge and lasting impact on gay photographic identity. His follow-up work, RARE VIEWS (2006) also took a similar approach and was even more successful. With NIGHTHAWKS Phanphiroj presents himself anew as a sensitive and impartial artist, a portraitist of young self-discovery in a world moving at a tearing pace.
Sexually charged scenes are interspersed with melancholy moments. Nothing is hidden here, which is exactly what the photographer’s fan loves – the captivating honesty of his images. His choice of models is also very special. They defy a uniform classification, whether gay or straight, masculine or girly – in Phanphiroj’s world these types of categories are unimportant. Much more crucial is the atmosphere – partly subliminal, partly aggressive sensuality of the moment.
Photographer Ohm Phanphiroj, originally from Thailand, spends time travelling between the US, Australia and Asia. His art and fashion photography unites his experiences from a wide variety of different fields. The recipient of numerous awards, his works are shown in galleries and museums in the USA, Europe as well as around Asia.

Bel Ami / Benno Thoma
Around the Globe

You’ve never seen Bel Ami like this! Renowned photographer Benno Thoma took shots of the lads of the world-famous porn company showing Lukas, Tommy and the rest in perfectly gorgeous photos. They’re emotional like never before, set against lavish backdrops and in masterfully composed erotic images. Benno Thoma is undoubtedly an artist – he bathes his models in luxuriously sensual colors. His sense of style makes this 224-paged book of photos in opulent large format into a sensually stunning synthesis of art. It is the momentary highpoint of Bel-Ami photo books.

Lukas Ridgeston, Josh Elliott, Renato Amoroso and Tommy Hansen are just a few of the most famous names from the stable of Bel-Ami players. Together with a horde of further hard-bodied lads they pose for grandiose solo portraits and in dreamy group scenes full of passion. The Mediterranean flair of the photos takes them a step further. This is a milestone of gay photography!

Photographer and director George Duroy produced his first gay hardcore film in 1994. With INTIMATE FRIENDS (1996) he published his first photo book with Bruno Gmünder Publishing. Many more followed and the name Bel Ami has become a gay legend. Dutch fashion and advertising photographer Benno Thoma has been travelling the world for years. With his current four books of photography he has always demonstrated his excellent sense for erotic moods and his unmistakable imagery provides his photographs with a high level of recognition.
